Filmmaker Jordan Peele has announced a release date for his next film and no, it is not arriving anytime soon.
The Oscar-winning director had earlier announced in March 2023 that the film will be released on on December 25, 2024. But the writers' strike in Hollywood brought the production to a halt. Now Peele has announced on social media that the new film will be released on October 23, 2026.
There is no information on the cast or crew of the show. Speaking about the upcoming film on the Conan O’Brien Needs a Friend podcast back in January, Peele said, "I do feel like my next project is clear to me and I’m psyched that I have another film that could be my favorite movie if I make it right," he said.
Jordan Peele last directed the 2022 film Nope. The science fiction horror film stars Daniel Kaluuya and Keke Palmer as horse-wrangling siblings attempting to capture evidence of an unidentified flying object in Agua Dulce, California. Steven Yeun, Michael Wincott, Brandon Perea, and Keith David appear in supporting roles. It is to be noted that Peele's three genre films Get Out, Us and Nope — have collectively grossed $683 million at the worldwide box office.
