Gabriel Basso and Jared Harris in final talks to join Kathryn Bigelow's Netflix film

Earlier we reported that actors Idris Elba and Rebecca Ferguson are to star in Kathryn Bigelow's upcoming film for Netflix. Now, actors Gabriel Basso and Jared Hiss, known for The Night Agent and Chernobyl respectively, are in final negotiations to join the cast of the Academy Award-winning director's film.

The plot details as well as details regarding Elba, Fergusson, Basso and Harris' characters are kept under wraps. However, reports suggest that the plot is set to centre at the White House as a national crisis unfolds.

This Netflix project marks Bigelow's return to feature films after her 2017 thriller Detroit, which was a notable awards contender produced and distributed by Annapurna Pictures. The film starred John Boyega, Will Poulter and Kaitlyn Dever, among others. She is best known for directing Zero Dark Thirty (2012) and The Hurt Locker (2008).

Meanwhile, Gabriel Basso recently wrapped up production for the second season of The Night Agent. Last seen in The Strangers: Chapter 1, he has Juror No. 2 and Trigger Warning in the pipeline, with the latter set to premiere on Netflix on June 21.

Jared Harris, on the other hand, was last seen in Reawakening. Apart from his stint in Chernobyl, the actor is known for his performance as Lane Pryce in the drama series Mad Men and King George VI in the historical drama series The Crown.
