Kinds of Kindness First Poster: Emma Stone occupies a man's headspace

The makers of Kinds of Kindness, the Yorgos Lanthimos directorial starring Emma Stone, Jesse Plemons, and Willem Dafoe in the lead roles, released the first poster for the film the other day. The film also stars Hong Chau, Margaret Qualley, Mamoudou Athie, Hunter Schafer, and Joe Alwyn. The poster shows a man's head with images of mostly Stone and some of the other cast members occupying everything except for parts of his hair and beard.

The official logline reads thus: "Kinds of Kindness is a triptych fable, following a man without choice who tries to take control of his own life; a policeman who is alarmed that his wife who was missing-at-sea has returned and seems a different person; and a woman determined to find a specific someone with a special ability, who is destined to become a prodigious spiritual leader."

Lanthimos directed the film from a screenplay by Efthimis Filippou. It brings Lanthimos and Stone back together for the first time after Poor Things, which helped the latter win a Best Actress Oscar this year. Earlier this year, Plemons won Best Actor at the Cannes Film Festival for his performances in the film. Producers include Ed Guiney, Andrew Lowe, Yorgos Lanthimos, and Kasia Malipan.

Kinds of Kindness is set for a limited release on June 21, followed by a wider release on June 28.
