
Earlier, we reported about the PlayStation game Until Dawn getting a film adaptation, with David F Sandberg to direct. Now, the makers of the film have roped in actors Ella Rubin, Ji-young Yoo, Odessa A’Zion, and Michael Cimino.
“At PlayStation Productions, we are always looking to find creative and authentic ways to adapt our beloved games that our fans will enjoy. Alongside Screen Gems, we’ve assembled a fantastic cast of new characters that builds upon our already stellar filmmaking team and their vision for the adaptation. We’re excited to reveal more about the movie soon,” stated Asad Qizilbash, Head of PlayStation Productions, Head of Product for PlayStation Studios, Sony Interactive Entertainment.
Details about the film's plot are not yet revealed, but it is reportedly a horror film. Sandberg will direct it from a screenplay by Blair Butler and Gary Dauberman.
Dauberman will produce the film under his banner Coin Operated alongside Mia Maniscalco, Lotta Losten, M’ngata’s Sandberg, Roy Lee of Vertigo Entertainment, and Qizilbash and Carter Swan of PlayStation Productions.
Rubin's most recent projects are The Idea of You, starring Anne Hathaway, and executive producer Steven Spielberg's Masters of the Air. Rubin will next be seen in Adult Children, Anora, and Fear Street: Prom Queens.
Cimino is most popular for his portrayal of Victor in the Hulu series Love, Victor. The actor will next be seen in the Amazon Prime Video show Motorheads and the feature film Girl Haunts Boy.
Yoo is best known for Expats and Smoking Tigers. She will next appear in the film Freaky Tales, also starring Jay Ellis and Pedro Pascal.
A’zion most recently appeared in Sitting In Bars With Cake, along with Yara Shahidi and Bette Midler. Her upcoming projects include Rides Shotgun, opposite Taron Egerton, and an HBO show with Rachel Sennott.
