The film helmed by Gareth Edwards, is expected to be “a completely fresh take launching a new Jurassic era, following three adults and three teens getting stuck on the Island,” according to Variety. The film, which is set to be shot in Thailand, Malta and UK, will mark the return of screenwriter David Koeep who penned the script of Jurassic Park (1993) and its sequel Jurassic Park: The Lost World (1997).

Steven Spielberg will executive produce the new instalment through Amblin Entertainment. Frank Marshall and Patrick Crowley who bankrolled the modern Jurassic franchise, will produce through Kennedy-Marshall.
