Jason George to become series regular in Grey's Anatomy

Returning as Ben Warren, actor Jason George has signed a deal to return to ABC's popular medical drama Grey's Anatomy as a series regular in the upcoming 21st season.

The actor, who was a part of Grey's and was a series regular in seasons 12 to 14, launched the spinoff series Station 19, where he plays a fireman, Ben Warren. Being a regular in the Firefighter series, which is also being produced by Shondaland and ABC Signature, George also made regular guest appearances in Grey's Anatomy.

Adding cogency to his return to Grey's, George's medical skills come in handy in season 7 of Station 19 rather than firefighting owing to his shoulder injury. This stoyline set up a potential return to Grey Sloan. Ben tells Captain Andrea Herrera (Jaina Lee Ortiz) that he is going to finish his surgical residency.

His return also coincides with Jake Borelli and Midori Francis wrapping up their respective character arcs in one of the longest-running medical dramas.

The medical drama by Shonda Rhimes was renewed for the 21st season this April.
