Josh Brolin, who is best known for portraying the Marvel villain Thanos, is the latest actor to join the star-studded cast of Knives Out 3.

The ensemble cast of Wake Up Dead Man: A Knives Out Mystery also stars Daniel Craig, Andrew Scott, Kerry Washington, Glenn Close, Josh O’Connor, Cailee Spaeny, Jeremy Renner, Mila Kunis and Daryl McCormack.

Rian Johnson, who helmed the first two films, namely Knives Out and Glass Onion: A Knives Out Mystery, is returning to write and direct the third film. He is also set to produce the film with his partner, Ram Bergman under the T-Street Pictures banner.

In the original 2019 Knives Out, Benoit Blanc attempts to figure out who killed the renowned crime novelist Harlan Thrombey. The sequel, Glass Onion, centred on a tech billionaire's private island murder mystery game. Craig is reprising his role as detective Benoit Blanc in the upcoming film.

Plot details for the upcoming film is yet to be revealed, but Johnson and Craig have teased that it is Blanc’s “most dangerous case yet.” The film is set to begin production soon and is slated to release on Netflix in 2025.

Brolin was last seen in Denis Villeneuve's Dune: Part Two. He also starred recently in the second season of Prime Video's sci-fi western series Outer Range, on which he served as an executive producer and director. He is currently shooting for Weapons, directed by Zach Cregger, and has Brothers, directed by Max Barbakow in the pipeline where he stars alongside Brendan Fraser and Devyn Dalton.
