The makers of Alien: Romulus released the official trailer for the film earlier this Tuesday. The science-fiction film is directed by Fede Alvarez from a screenplay he co-wrote with Rodo Sayagues. It stars Cailee Spaeny, Isabela Merced, David Jonsson, Spike Fearn, and Archie Renaux. The film revolves around space colonisers who encounter a horrifying life form in an abandoned space station. In true Alien franchise fashion, the trailer shows an extraterrestrial being crawling onto the face and into the mouth of a character, among other events.
Alien: Romulus is produced by Ridley Scott and Michael A Pruss under their Scott Free Productions banner, alongside Walter Hill of Brandywine Productions. It is executive produced by Alvarez himself, Elizabeth Cantillon, Brent O'Connor, and Tom Moran.
It has cinematography by Galo Olivares, editing by Jake Roberts, production design by Naaman Marshall, and music by Benjamin Wallfisch.
It is slated for an August 16 release in theatres worldwide.
