Christopher Miller, who is among the screenwriters and producers of the Spider-Verse franchise, dismissed speculation about the use of generative AI for the next installment in the series. Responding to a user's allegations about the utilisation of generative artificial intelligence in Spider-Man: Beyond the Spider-Verse, Miller stated that the film lacks it and implied that the franchise will not have it either. Miller added, "One of the main goals of the films is to create new visual styles that have never been seen in a studio CG film, not steal the generic plagiarized average of other artists' work."

Spider-Man: Beyond the Spider-Verse was originally scheduled for a March 2024 release but was removed from Sony's slate during the actor's and writers' strike last year. The film is still in production and yet to have a theatrical release date. It is the third installment in the Spider-Verse film series and will build on Miles Morales' story.
