The trailer for The Thicket, starring Peter Dinklage and Juliette Lewis in lead roles, was unveiled on Tuesday. The film is based on the novel of the same name written by Joe R Lansdale. Shot in Calgary, Canada, the film also has Dinklage serving as producer.

The trailer shows a young girl being kidnapped by a violent killer, Cut Throat Bill (Lewis). The girl's brother strives to save his sister, enlisting the help of Dinklage, a bounty hunter.

The Thicket is said to follow Jack, an innocent young man's pursuit to rescue his sister Lula who gets kidnapped by the violent killer Cut Throat Bill and her gang. Jack takes the help of a bounty hunter, Reginald Jones, who is an alcoholic, the son of an ex-slave and a street-smart prostitute, to save his sister. They find the Cut Throat Bill in an unknown land known as The Big Thicket- a place where blood and chaos reign.

The Thicket is reportedly Dinklage's longtime passion project. The film is directed by Elliot Lester, from a script penned by Christopher Kelly. The Thicket will also star Esme Creed-Miles, Levon Hawke, Leslie Grace, Gbenga Akinnagbe, Macon Blair, Ned Dennehy, Andrew Schulz, Arliss Howard, and James Hetfield.

The Thicket is all set to hit theatres on September 6.
