Terrifier 3 streamer Screambox dropped the first official teaser for the third instalment in the Terrifier franchise. Damien Leone comes back as the director for the film, which stars David Howard Thornton as he reprises his Art the Clown role from the first two films. The plot follows the psychopathic clown as he goes on a murderous rampage, chopping off anyone who crosses his path in Miles County on Christmas Eve.
Lauren LaVera also comes back to the franchise as Sienna. The cast also includes Samantha Scaffidi, Elliot Fullam, wrestler Chris Jericho, and Daniel Roebuck in his debut as Santa Claus.
In an earlier interview with Variety, Leone cited Nightmare on Elm Street 3: Dream Warriors as an inspiration for the second instalment in the Terrifier franchise. However, with the third part, he plans to ground the franchise in its earthly roots.
“There’s a lot of people who didn’t love the fantasy, or at least they need more explanation as to why that’s all happening. That’s why I want to course-correct a bit; let’s go back to ‘Nightmare on Elm Street part one,’ as opposed to going further into ‘Dream Warriors.’ That could be very helpful criticism and help me make a better movie moving forward. But we’ll see," stated Leone.
A Cineverse and Bloody Disgusting production, Terrifier 3 is slated for an October 11 release in theatres in North America.
