Film production houses 20th Century and Imagine Entertainment are developing the adaptation of Fox series 24.

The series, that originally ran for nine seasons from 2001 to 2014, was also made into a television film called Redemption in 2008.

Created by Robert Cochran and Joel Surnow, the series is about "Counter Terrorism Agent Jack Bauer racing against the clock to subvert terrorist plots and save his nation from ultimate disaster."

It is worth noting that there were talks of a film adaptation as early as mid 2000s, when it was planned during the season break between the sixth and seventh season. Sutherland had commented that it would be impossible for writers to work on the series and film back and forth. It was later pushed to 2010-11, after the streaming of the eighth season, which too didn't materialise.

The series starred Kiefer Sutherland, Mary Lynn Rajskub, Carlos Bernard, Dennis Haysbert, Elisha Cuthbert, James Morrison, Reiko Aylesworth, and Jude Ciccolella, among others.

Though 20th Century did not comment on the film, Imagine Entertainment's Co-founder Brian Grazer, in a recent interview, hinted at a potential feature version of the series, according to the Deadline. The plot and cast details of the film are kept under wraps.
