
The makers of the mystery series Poker Face on Peacock brought in a fresh set of guest stars for its second season. According to a Variety report, joining series lead Natasha Lyonne are Giancarlo Esposito (known for his roles in Better Call Saul and Parish), Katie Holmes (Our Town and Ray Donovan), Gaby Hoffmann (Transparent and Eric), and Kumail Nanjiani (Welcome to Chippendales and Only Murders in the Building).
This quartet adds to the show's already impressive roster of guest stars. Season one saw the likes of Chloe Sevigny, Ellen Barkin, Tim Blake Nelson, Nick Nolte, Rhea Perlman, and even Adrien Brody grace the screen.
Esposito, Holmes, Hoffmann, and Nanjiani join Lyonne's character, Charlie Cale, who has the unique talent to spot a lie from a mile away. According to the official description, Charlie visits multiple places in her Plymouth Barracuda, encountering new characters and mysterious crimes in each town. With her uncanny ability, she wants to solve them all.
The first season of Poker Face was critically acclaimed, raking in four Emmy nominations, including one for Lyonne's performance as the lead actress in a comedy series. Besides, Judith Light took home an Emmy for her guest appearance in the first season!
Rian Johnson, the mastermind behind the Knives Out universe, created Poker Face. He also serves as executive producer through his production company, T-Street, and director. Tony Tost takes the reins as executive producer and showrunner for season two. Lyonne also acts as an executive producer under her banner, Animal Pictures, and a director for season 2.
