Mandy Patinkin is on board NBC's medical drama series, Brilliant Minds, in recurring role. The series, starring Zachary Quinto as Dr. Wolf, has also added Steve Howey and André De Shields as guest stars. Howey and Patinkin are set to star in two episodes.

The show will feature Patinkin as a respected old-school doctor who uses unique methods to treat his patients. He builds trust with the show's main character, Dr. Wolf, by making house calls and developing strong relationships with his patients. This eventually leads to a mentorship between the two doctors.

The show also introduces Steve Howey as a tough biker who gets shot and ends up needing Dr. Wolf's help. Howey's character will face a difficult choice. Meanwhile, André De Shields portrays a patient with Alzheimer's in a hospice, and Dr. Wolf plays a key role in reuniting him with his loved ones.

Previously titled Dr Wolf, Brilliant Minds will follow the work of the larger-than-life neurologist, Dr Oliver Wold. The series also stars Tamberla Perry, Ashleigh LaThrop, Alex MacNicoll, Aury Krebs, Spence Moore II, Teddy Sears and Donna Murphy.

Executive producers of Brilliant Minds are Greg Berlanti, Sarah Schechter, Leigh London Redman, Lee Toland Krieger, DeMane Davis, Melissa Aouate, Henrik Bastin, Andy Serkis, Jonathan Cavendish and Will Tennant. The series is produced by Berlanti Productions, Fabel Entertainment, The Imaginarium, Grassi Productions and Tavala in association with Warner Bros.
