Writer-director Luke Jaden has announced the lead cast for his upcoming independent horror film Animals of the Land, which will go on floors in Michigan later this year. The cast includes Killing Eve and Warrior Nun star Andrea Tivadar, Jord Knotter, newcomer Roan Kyne, and Abel Lysenko.

Animals of the Land revolves around a family existing in harmony with nature at the dawn of humanity. However, a rebellion that unleashes a terrifying evil affects their existence. Consequently, the family must make a devastating sacrifice to restore the cycle of life, with potentially catastrophic consequences.

The film reunites Tivadar and Knotter after their turns in director Lukasz Rog's science-fiction action film Rage of Stars. Tivadar will portray the sole female lead of the film and the mother of the family, namely Willow. Knotter will take on the role of the father, Clay. On the other hand, Lysenko and Kyne will play the youngest and eldest sons of Willow and Clay, namely Rye and River.

Animals of the Land serves as an origin story for humanity. The production team has constructed a unique set in Michigan using entirely natural materials and plant-based fibres.

Jaden, whose previous directorial credits include Boo! and King Ripple, will also co-produce Animals of the Land alongside Phil Wurtzel, Diane Michelle, Scott Whitesell, Ele Bardha, Corrina Roshea, and Jaime Gallagher.
