On Monday, Netflix unveiled the trailer for their upcoming original series, The Decameron. The series consists of eight episodes and is based on 14th-century Italian author Giovanni Boccaccio's short stories of the same name.

The trailer shows a group of nobles from Florentine choosing to quarantine themselves during the black plague, in a villa in the Tuscany countryside with abundant resources for survival. However, the lack of rules causes chaos among them.

The first four episodes of The Decameron will be helmed by Michael Uppendahl. The Decameron has Kathleen Jordan as the creator, with Jenji Kohan as the executive producer. Kathleen will also be the showrunner and executive producer along with Black McCormick and Tara Herrmann.

The cast comprises of Zosia Mamet, Tanya Reynolds, Saoirse-Monica Jackson, Karan Gill, Amar Chadha-Patel, Leila Farzad, Jessica Plummer, and Douggie McMeekin, among others. The technical crew of The Decameron consists of Luca Tranchino as the production designer, with Uliva Pizzetti and Gabriella Pescucci as costume designers.

The Decameron is all set to premiere on Netflix on July 25.
