Actor Lindsay Lohan, who has starred in Disney's Freaky Friday 2, said how shooting for the film has brought the little kid to the fore again.
The 37-year-old actor reprises her role of Anna Coleman alongside Jamie Lee Curtis, who returns as Tess Coleman in the sequel to the 2003 film Freaky Friday.
In her conversation on the Nightline show, Lindsay said, "That's 'The Parent Trap', that's 'Confessions of a Teenage Drama Queen', that's 'Herbie'. It's so many moments for me. So when I got there, I kind of felt like this essence of a little kid again."
Talking about her friendship with Curtis, Lindsay said she feels grateful and that it has been a "great experience" to be sharing screen space with her. ""You know how they say when you have a best friend or someone you're really close with? If you cannot see them for years and years, but when you see them again, it's like you never separated," Lindsay added.
Returning cast members also include Mark Harmon, Chad Michael Murray, Christina Vidal Mitchell, Haley Hudson, Lucille Soong, Stephen Tobolowsky, and Rosalind Chao. The new cast members are Julia Butters, Manny Jacinto, Maitreyi Ramakrishnan, and Sophia Hammons.
Ganatra will direct the sequel, based on a script by Jordan Weiss. Freaky Friday 2 will be produced by Andrew Gunn and Kristin Burr. The sequel will reportedly see Lohan reprising her role as Anna, who now has a daughter of her own and will soon have a stepdaughter. The official description of Freaky Friday 2 reads, "As they navigate the myriad challenges that come when two families merge, Tess (Curtis) and Anna discover the lightning might indeed strike twice."
While the makers have yet to announce a release date for Freaky Friday 2, it has now been confirmed that the film will hit theatres in 2025.
