Apple TV has released the first-look posters of Saoirse Ronan and Elliott Heffernan's characters from director Steve McQueen's Blitz, a drama set against a World War II backdrop. It will premiere on the opening night of the London Film Festival on October 9 this year. The film revolves around a boy named George (Heffernan) who comes back to his East London home from the British countryside, where his mother (Ronan) sends him for his safety during World War II. The film follows the boy's journey back home and his mother's search for him.
Blitz also stars Harris Dickinson, Benjamin Clementine, Kathy Burke, Paul Weller, and Stephen Graham.
The Lammas Park banner of McQueen produces the film along with Eric Fellner and Tim Bevan of Working Title Films, as well as Arnon Milchan, Michael Schaefer and Yariv Milchan for New Regency.
The film brings McQueen back together with costume designer Jacqueline Durran, composer Hans Zimmer, and production designer Adam Stockhausen. Naomi Donne is the make-up designer and Yorick Le Saux is the cinematographer for the film.
It will hit select theatres on November 1, followed by an Apple TV+ release on November 22.
