On Monday, Netflix announced through a behind-the-scenes (BTS) video that production has begun on the second season of One Piece. The streaming giant also confirmed the return of the original cast, which includes Inaki Godoy (Monkey D Luffy) Emily Rudd (Nami), Mackenyu (Roronoa Zoro), Taz Skylar (Sanji), and Jacob Romero (Usopp), along with Ilia Isorelys Paulino (Alvida), Michael Dorman (Gold Roger), and Jeff Ward (Buggy). In the new season, these characters have to deal with the Baroque Works villains, comprising David Dastmalchian's Mr 3, Jazzara Jaslyn's Miss Valentine, Camrus Johnson's Mr 5, and Daniel Lasker's Mr 9.
Created in association with the One Piece manga series publisher Shueisha as well as produced by Netflix and Tomorrow Studios, the live-action pirate series has Eiichiro Oda and showrunners Joe Tracz and Matt Owens serving as executive producers. The makers debuted the series last August and renewed it immediately afterwards.
