June Squibb joins the voice cast of Inside Out 2

Oscar-nominated actor June Squibb has joined the voice cast of Pixar’s Inside Out 2, reported Variety. However, the character that she voices in the film has not been revealed.

In 1990, Squibb starred in her first feature film, Alice, starring with Woody Allen. She was nominated for an Academy Award in 2013 for Best Supporting Actress for Alexander Payne's film Nebraska. In addition, Squibb starred in the following films: 2020's Palm Springs; 1993's The Age of Innocence; Meet Joe Black (1998); About Schmidt (2002); and Hubie Halloween (2020).

In addition, the 94-year-old actor has provided voice acting for a few more Pixar and Disney films, such as Ralph Breaks the Internet (2018), Toy Story 4 (2019), and Soul (2020).

Amy Poehler, Phyllis Smith and Lewis Black return as Joy, Sadness and Anger, respectively, while Tony Hale and Liza Lapira take over for Bill Hader and Mindy Kaling as Fear and Disgust.

The teaser trailer of Inside Out 2, which was released last year, shows us that Riley has grown up and so have her emotions. As Joy, Hope, and the others navigate the change, we get introduced to the clumsy and perturbed Anxiety. Pete Doctor, known for making Pixar classics like Monsters Inc and Up, had directed the original Inside Out. Kelsey Mann is directing the sequel.

Inside Out follows the anthropomorphized versions of emotions inside a young girl, Riley. As Joy, Sadness, Disgust, Anger, and Fear struggle to help navigate her life, young Riley goes through a series of changes in her life. Amy Poehler, Phyllis Smith, Bill Hader, Lewis Black, and Mindy Kaling played the five central emotions while Kaitlyn Dias played Riley, and Diane Lane and Kyle MacLachlan played her parents.

The much-anticipated sequel to the 2015 hit film is scheduled to release in theatres on June 14.
