Emmy Awards 2023: Sam Richardson and Judith Light bag Guest Acting in a Comedy Series awards

The awards for Best Guest Actor and Actress in a Comedy Series at the Creative Arts Emmys of 2023 were received by Sam Richardson and Judith Light respectively. While Richardson bagged the award for his performance in Ted Lasso, Light received it for Poker Face. 

Also nominated in the category alongside Richardson were Jon Bernthal and Oliver Platt for The Bear, Luke Kerby for The Marvelous Mrs. Maisel, Nathan Lane for Only Murders in the Building and Pedro Pascal for Saturday Night Live. 

Becky Ann Baker for Ted Lasso, Quinta Brunson for Saturday Night Live, Taraji P Henson for Abott Elementary, and Sarah Niles and Harriet Walter for Ted Lasso were fellow nominees of Judith Light. 

Richardson thanked his team, family, Tim Robinson and the Detroit Lions when he received the award from the hands of Murray Bartlett and Nick Offerman. He also joked that he “really didn’t think he was going to win this." This award marks Richardson's first Emmy and second nomination. 

On the other hand, Light said "What a way to start a new year!" and further gave a shout-out to her co-stars Rian Johnson and Natasha Lyonne. The Emmy is Light’s first after five nominations and also marks the first Emmy win for Peacock.
