Final season of The Umbrella Academy gets release date

The fourth and final season of Netflix series The Umbrella Academy will kick off in August 8 this year. Netflix dropped the update on their social media handles along with new character posters from the series.

The first slide shows Hollywood star Elliot Page, who was transformed from Vanya Hargreeves to Viktor Hargreeves. In the second slide, we can see Tom Hopper dressed as Luther Hargreeves. The next picture features David Castaneda, who plays Diego Hargreeves. The post also includes Ritu Aray as Lila Hargreeves, Emmy Raver-Lampman as Allison Hargreeves, Robert Sheehan as Klaus Hargreeves, Justin H Min as Ben Hargreeves, Aidan Gallagher as Five Hargreeves, and Colm Feore as Sir Reginal Hargreeves.

The series showrunner is Steve Blackman who is returning as the executive producer. This season, the show will shed its previous ways of introducing a 10-episode and will debut with six episodes.

The Umbrella Academy is based on a comic book series of the same name written by Gerard Way and illustrated by Gabriel Ba. The Umbrella Academy, which premiered in 2019, starts with 43 unconnected women showing no signs of pregnancy and still giving birth on the same day. Billionaire Sir Reginald Hargreeves adopts seven of those children, in hopes of turning the children into superheroes. With rather disastrous results, they end up becoming destructive for the world.

The ensemble cast of the series includes Elliot Page, Tom Hopper, David Castañeda, Emmy Raver, Robert Sheehan, Justin H Min, Colm Feore and Ritu Arya. Season 4 newcomers are Nick Offerman, Megan Mullally, Jean Thibedeau, and David Cross.

Both Gerard Way and Gabriel Bá are executive producers of the series.
