Frozen 3, Toy Story 5 and The Mandalorian and Grogu release dates confirmed

Disney announced the release dates for Frozen 3 and Toy Story 5 during their Q1 2024 earnings conference call on Thursday.

"We're already looking forward to 2026 and beyond with Frozen 3, the first Toy Story movie since 2019, and a new Star Wars movie that brings The Mandalorian and Grogu to the big screen for the very first time,"  CEO of Walt Disney Company Bob Iger announced.

Another animated sequel, Zootopia 2, will arrive on November 26, 2025.

Few details are known about Frozen 3, but the director who helmed the first two parts confirmed that she will not return to direct the third one. 

She recently mentioned, "I can't say where we are [with Frozen 3]. All our stories are driven by the artists in the studio. Where we're going with Frozen did not come from me. It came from an incredible person... And I've been blown away by it and I'm just having a blast with that team."

The first instalment was released in 2013, while the second one was out in 2019. Both films made huge business at the Worldwide Box Office, earning over $1 billion each. Frozen II follows sisters Anna and Elsa, and their companions Kristoff, Sven, and Olaf as they travel to an enchanted forest to unravel the origin of Elsa's magical power.

Toy Story 4, released in 2019, follows Woody (Hanks) and Buzz Lightyear (Allen) as the pair and the other toys go on a road trip with Bonnie (Madeleine McGraw), who creates Forky (Hale), a spork made with recycled materials from her school. Meanwhile, Woody is reunited with Bo Peep (Potts), and must decide where his loyalties lie. The film was believed to be the last film in Pixar's long-running animated franchise.

Both Frozen 3 and Toy Story 5 will be released in 2026, though the exact date of release has not yet been
released.

As for The Mandalorian and Grogu, the movie will be released on May 22, 2026. Bob Iger has confirmed that this would be the first of a new slate of Star Wars movies - "a number of which have already been announced." Three other upcoming Star Wars movies have been officially announced to date, and this confirms others are in the works as well.
