It Ends With Us star Brandon Sklenar has come out in support of Blake Lively following her allegations of sexual harassment and defamation against actor-director Justin Baldoni.
Sklenar, who portrays Atlas Corrigan, the childhood love interest of Lively’s character in the film, took to Instagram on Wednesday to share Lively’s official complaint. “For the love of God, read this,” he wrote, tagging Lively and adding a heart emoji to show solidarity.
The actor is the latest to voice support for Lively, joining figures such as It Ends With Us author Colleen Hoover, Amber Heard, director Paul Feig, and Lively’s Sisterhood of the Traveling Pants co-stars.
Sony Pictures, the studio behind It Ends With Us, reaffirmed its backing of Lively in a public statement: “We have previously expressed our support for Blake in connection with her work on and for the film. We fully and firmly reiterate that support today. Furthermore, we strongly condemn any attacks on her reputation. Such behaviour has no place in our industry or society at large,” a Sony spokesperson told Variety.
SAG-AFTRA also responded to the controversy, acknowledging the seriousness of Lively’s accusations. “These are deeply concerning allegations. All employees are entitled to raise grievances or file complaints without fear of reprisal. Retaliation for reporting misconduct is not only wrong but illegal,” the union stated. “We commend Blake Lively for bravely addressing harassment and advocating for the use of intimacy coordinators during scenes involving nudity or sexual content. This is a crucial measure that fosters a safer environment on set.”
Following the fallout, Baldoni was dropped by WME, the talent agency that also represents Lively.
