Rose Byrne and Meghann Fahy have been lined up to lead Peacock's upcoming straight-to-order series, The Good Daughter. The series is based on a novel by Karin Slaughter, who is also penning the episodes. Apart from acting, Byrne will also serve as an executive producer.

Earlier, Biel was set to star in the lead, but the actor departed the project in September. Fahy has joined the cast as Biel's replacement. Fahy and Byrne will play sisters Charlotte and Samantha Quinn in The Good Daughter, who have lived 28 years with the trauma of a violence that happened on a random night. Now, Charlotte becomes the first witness on the scene of another such attack in the small town of Pikeville. Charlotte is forced to face her demons, as a lawyer like her father, and as the truths come out, the shocking revelations make her and Samantha wonder if being the good daughter is worth it.

The Good Daughter is executive produced by Slaughter along with Bruna Papandrea, Steve Hutensky, and Casey Haver of Made Up Stories; director Steph Green, and Byrne.

Byrne is known for Apple TV+'s Platonic, starring alongside Seth Rogen. She has also starred in three seasons of the streamer's Physical. Fahy, on the other hand, was last seen in The Perfect Couple on Netflix. She is also known for The Bold Type and The White Lotus.
