DC Studios dropped the first teaser trailer for filmmaker James Gunn's Superman, starring David Corenswet in the titular role. The trailer offers a glimpse of the film's plot which, as per the official description, follows the titular character as he embarks on a journey to reconcile his past on Krypton with his upbringing as a human being named Clark Kent. In other words, the character is attempting to figure out who he is, balancing his Kryptonian heritage with his life on Earth as Clark Kent. The teaser starts with Superman falling onto a giant piece of ice land, seemingly Earth, as Krypto the Superdog comes along to his "rescue". A fragile Superman, with blood spilling out of his mouth, tells Krypto, "Home, take me home." In a later portion, a man throws a can at Superman's head as the heroic character walks into a building.

The trailer offers first look at DC Comics characters such as Hawkgirl (Isabela Merced), Green Lantern (Nathan Fillion), Mister Terrific (Edi Gathegi), and Metamorpho (Anthony Carrigan). The film also stars Nicholas Hoult as Lex Luthor, Rachel Brosnahan as Lois Lane, and Skyler Gisondo as Jimmy Olsen.

The teaser pays homage to Christopher Reeve's Superman with a slowed-down version of its theme song, originally composed by John Williams. Composer John Murphy worked on the new, electric theme for the film.

Superman is the maiden production of DC Studios after Gunn and Peter Safran took over the company. The film is slated for a July 11, 2025, release in theatres.
