The trailer for A24's Death of a Unicorn, starring Paul Rudd and Jenna Ortega in lead roles, was unveiled on Wednesday. Helmed by Alex Scharfman, the film is all set to hit theatres in Spring 2025.
A black horror comedy, the trailer shows Rudd and Ortega as a father-daughter duo who accidentally hit a unicorn on their way to a retreat. As they meet a CEO at the retreat and bring the unicorn there, things take a chaotic turn as the CEO tries to experiment with it.
Will Poulter, Téa Leoni, and Richard E Grant round out the extended cast of Death of a Unicorn. The film marks Scharfman's directorial debut.
Death of a Unicorn is backed by Alex, Drew Houpt, and Lucas Joaquin under the Secret Engine banner; Tyler Campellone and Lars Knudsen of Square Peg; and Tim Headington and Theresa Steele Page of Ley Line Entertainment.
With Ari Aster, Michael Williams, Jacob Epstein, David Darby, Nate Kamiya, Paul, and Jenna serving as executive producers, Death of a Unicorn will have music by John Carpenter along with Cody Carpenter and Daniel Davies.
