
A while ago, the Black Bag distributor, Focus Features dropped a trailer for the film that stars Michael Fassbender and Cate Blanchett in the lead roles. The Steven Soderbergh directorial tells the story of intelligence agent George Woodhouse (Fassbender) and his spouse Kathryn (Blanchett). When Kathryn becomes suspected of treason, George's loyalty gets put to the ultimate test as he must choose between his his nation and his wife. The tagline of the film reads, "It takes a spy to hunt one."
The film brings Fassbender and Blanchett back together for the first time after their collaboration on Terrence Malick's 2017 directorial Song to Song.
Black Bag also stars Pierce Brosnan, Regé-Jean Page, Marisa Abela, Naomie Harris, and Tom Burke. Soderberg directed the film from a screenplay by popular scenarist David Koepp, known for films such as Jurassic Park, Carlito's Way, and Ghost Town. Soderberg and Koepp also worked on the so-called spectral thriller Presence.
Black Bag is slated for a March 14, 2025, release in theatres.
