Sam Rechner joins the cast of Scream 7

Actor Sam Rechner, known for his role in Steven Spielberg's The Fabelmans, has joined the growing cast of Scream 7. Details regarding his character have been kept under wraps.

He joins the previously announced cast members Isabel May who portrays the daughter of Sidney Prescott and Celeste O’Connor whose role has not been revealed yet. Asa Germann and Mckenna Grace will also be playing prominent roles in the film.

There have been multiple changes in the cast and crew for Scream 7, including the exit of Christopher Landon as its director. Since then, Kevin Williamson, the creator of Scream and the screenwriter of the 1996 Wes Craven directorial that launched the franchise, has been directing the film from a Guy Busick screenplay. Plot details are also yet to be announced.

The 2022 Scream reboot's James Vanderbilt, Paul Neinstein, and William Sherak are producing the film under the banner Project X Entertainment. The makers are yet to disclose its plot details.

Scream 7 is slated for a February 27, 2026, release through Paramount Pictures.

Rechner gained recognition for his portrayal of Logan, the high school bully to Gabriel LaBelle’s 16-year-old character Sammy, in Steven Spielberg’s The Fabelmans. He has also appeared in Season 2 of the popular Netflix series Heartbreak High. Recently, he completed filming for Out Come the Wolves, where he stars alongside Giancarlo Esposito.
