Rebecca Hall is the latest addition to the FX series The Beauty starring Evan Peters in the lead role. She will be joining the lead along with the previously announced actors Ashton Kutcher, Anthony Ramos, and Jeremy Pope. Ryan Murphy directs the series along with Matt Hodgson who has also co-created, written and executive produced along with Murphy.
The Beauty is based on the comic books by Jeremy Haun and Jason A Hurley, which is set in a world where a sexually transmitted disease named 'The Beauty' spreads across the world — largely because it makes people more physically attractive. However, two detectives soon find a conspiracy theory linked to the origins of the disease. FX has ordered a 11-episode series.
Peters, Murphy, Hodgson, Kutcher, Ramos, and Pope are all executive producers along with Alexis Martin Woodall, Eric Kovtun, Scott Robertson, Nissa Diederich and Eric Gitter. The Beauty is produced by 20th Television in association with Ryan Murphy Television. Murphy is under an overall deal at Disney, which includes 20th Television.
This marks a homecoming of sorts for Peters and Murphy, who have collaborated on nine installments of the anthology series American Horror Story, Pose and Monster. Most recently, Peters starred in the Netflix series Dahmer – Monster: The Jeffrey Dahmer Story, which Murphy co-created with Ian Brennan.
Last seen in Godzilla x Kong: The New Empire, Hall also has Peter Hujar's Day and Ella McCay in the pipeline.
