We had earlier reported that filmmaker Ridley Scott and actor Paul Mescal are set to reteam for the upcoming thriller The Dog Stars following their successful collaboration on the recently-released Gladiator 2. However, their plans may be put on hold.

In a conversation with Christopher Nolan at the Directors Guild of America in Los Angeles, Scott confirmed that he is indeed working on the film that is based on Peter Heller’s 2012 post-apocalyptic thriller novel of the same name. When Nolan enquired about Paul Mescal's role in the film, Ridley Scott further revealed that this news was true while noting that the All of Us Strangers actor's schedule may hinder their collaboration on The Dog Stars. Ridly Scott then said that Mescal might get busy with Sony Pictures‘ Beatles movies with director Sam Mendes.

While there has been no official confirmation from the studio, Mescal will reportedly be essaying the role of Paul McCartney in the upcoming four biopics. All of these films will be released theatrically and is said to follow the lives of the four main band members: McCartney, John Lennon, George Harrison and Ringo Starr.

It was only recently that Beatles drummer Ringo Starr revealed that Barry Keoghan will be playing him in the film and that the actor has been taking lessons learning the instrument for the same.

Further details on the cast and crew are yet to be announced by the makers.
