After its Cannes Grand Prix win earlier this year, Payal Kapadia’s All We Imagine As Light continues to grab awards from international festival circuits and critics. Earlier this December, it won Best International Film at New York Film Critics Circle. Now, the critics of the prestigious magazine Sight and Sound have rated it the year's best film, calling it a "dreamlike tale of loneliness and fellowship."

The film revolves around two Malayali nurses, played by Divya Prabha and Kani Kusruti, in Mumbai, and tells a story of their dreams and aspirations. It also stars Chhaya Kadam of Laapataa Ladies fame and Hridhu Haroon.

All We Imagine As Light hit theatres across India on November 22 after its limited release in Kerala in September. The film is yet to have a streaming release date. Earlier this year, filmmaker Hansal Mehta took a dig at streaming platforms for not acquiring the Grand Prix winner at the Cannes Film Festival.
