Elizabeth Olsen, who is known for Avengers: Age of Ultron, Captain America: Civil War, and Avengers: Infinity War is all set to join Julia Roberts in Panic Carefully. Directed by sam Esmail, the upcoming film is touted to be a paranoid thriller reminiscent of Silence of the Lambs and Mr Robot series.
Panic Carefully's plotline is currently kept under wraps, but the director will helm the film from his own script.
The film reunites Esmail and Roberts after their hugely successful apocalyptic thriller Leave the World Behind, based on Rumaan Alam’s 2020 novel, which premiered on Netflix in November 2023. The film also starred Mahershala Ali, Ethan Hawke and Myha’la.
The film will be bankrolled by Esmail along with Chad Hamilton for Email Corp., alongside Roberts, Scott Stuber, Marisa Yeres Gill and Lisa Gillan.
Up next, Esmail is producing the upcoming thriller Famous, directed by Jody Hill and starring Zac Efron and Phoebe Dynevor. He also served as an executive producer in the 2022 political thriller series Gaslit, starring Roberts, Sean Penn, Dan Stevens, Betty Gilpin, Shea Whigham, and Darby Camp.
Earlier this year, Olsen starred in the Netflix drama His Three Daughters and took on the lead role in Fleur Fortuné's sci-fi thriller The Assessment, which made its debut at the Toronto International Film Festival. She is also set to reprise her role as Scarlet Witch in the upcoming Disney+ animated series Marvel Zombies.
