The Bridget Jones: Mad About the Boy production banner, Working Title Films, released an image giving a first look at Renee Zellweger's character in the film. The film is set to hit theatres on February 14, 2025, and the streaming platform Peacock. Zellweger reprises her role as Bridget Jones in the film, which also brings back Hugh Grant as Daniel Cleaver.

Michael Morris of To Leslie fame directed the film, based on Helen Fielding’s 2013 novel Bridget Jones: Mad About the Boy. Fielding penned the screenplay alongside Dan Mazer and Abi Morgan.

In the 2013 novel, a widowed Jones enters the dating scene again. Different from the previous books, she has texts and tweets to chronicle her life events as she deals with her life, family, work, and love life as a single mother. In the first-look poster, however, Zellweger's character holds a diary and a pen in a throwback to the first film in the Bridget Jones series.

According to reports, Colin Firth plays a cameo in a role reprisal of Mark Darcy from the first film. The confirmed returning cast includes Sarah Solemani, James Callis, Sally Phillips, and Shirley Henderson as Bridget’s friends, along with Jim Broadbent and Gemma Jones as her father and mother. Celia Imrie, Neil Pearson and Joanna Scanlan also reprise their roles. The new additions to the cast are Emma Thompson, Chiwetel Ejiofor, Isla Fisher, and Leo Woodall.

Tim Bevan, Jo Wallett, and Eric Fellner produced it through the Working Title Films banner. Amelia Granger, Sarah-Jane Wright, and Fielding executive produced it.
