Rosario Dawson, currently starring in the The Mandalorian spinoff series Ahsoka on Disney+, has completed filming on the action thriller Midnight. Written by Jeff Byrd and Lamont Magee, the film marks the feature debut of Joshua Otis Miller. Joining Dawson in the cast are Milla Jovovich and Alexandra Shipp. The plot follows a blind woman (Shipp) hunted by an international criminal group (led by Jovovich's character) seeking a package believed to be delivered to by her federal agent sibling (Dawson).
Jordan Yale Levine and Jordan Beckerman of Yale Productions produced the film, alongside Dawson, Leah Elizabeth Rucinski and Timothy Christian and Rab Butler of Night Fox Entertainment. David Gere, Chelsea Vale, and Beth Bryant are the other producers. Michael Day is a co-producer.
Outside of Midnight, Dawson has recently appeared in the Haunted Mansion remake, the Kevin Smith directorial Clerks III, and the show Dopesick. She also starred and co-produced in the show Normal Ain’t Normal. Shipp, known for her roles in Anyone But You and Barbie, will next be seen in Violent Ends opposite Billy Magnussen. Jovovich, most popular for the Resident Evil franchise, has completed shooting for World-Breaker and will appear in In the Lost Lands.
