Manny Jacinto is the latest to join the cast of the second installment of Freaky Friday, titled Freakier Friday. He is all set to play the husband of Lindsay Lohan in the upcoming film.
Jamie Lee Curtis, who plays Lindsay Lohan's mother in the film, opened up about Jacinto's role to Entertainment Weekly. “Manny plays Lindsay’s husband, but that’s as much as we can say. Manny is lovely and so funny," she said.
Jamie Lee Curtis and Lindsay Lohan are returning to reprise their roles as mother and daughter in the upcoming sequel. Returning cast members also include Mark Harmon, Chad Michael Murray, Christina Vidal Mitchell, Haley Hudson, Lucille Soong, Stephen Tobolowsky, and Rosalind Chao.
The new cast members who have joined Freakier Friday are Julia Butters, Jordan E Cooper, Maitreyi Ramakrishnan, and Sophia Hammons.
Nisha Ganatra is directing Freakier Friday from a script by Jordan Weiss. Freakier Friday is produced by Andrew Gunn and Kristin Burr. Freakier Friday, which went on floors in June, will reportedly see Lohan reprising her role as Anna, who now has a daughter of her own and will soon have a stepdaughter. The official description of Freakier Friday reads, "As they navigate the myriad challenges that come when two families merge, Tess (Curtis) and Anna discover the lightning might indeed strike twice."
Although Disney has yet to announce a release date for Freakier Friday, it has confirmed a theatrical release will take place in 2025.
