Earlier, we reported about Christopher Nolan’s science-fiction film Interstellar rereleasing on September 27, 2024, marking its tenth anniversary. However, Paramount Pictures has announced that it is releasing on December 6 instead. It will come out on 70mm Imax, one of the formats that filmmaker Nolan prefers, and digital screens. Rumours are rife about the film's 70mm prints being destroyed, but Paramount Pictures has reportedly archived additional copies.
Interstellar revolves around a group of astronauts who travel to outer space in search of a more habitable planet as dust storms and blights herald a dystopian earth. The film stars Matthew McConaughey, Jessica Chastain, Anne Hathaway, Matt Damon, Timothée Chalamet, Mackenzie Foy, Michael Caine, Casey Affleck, and John Lithgow.
Paul Franklin, Andrew Lockley, Scott Fisher, and Ian Hunter bagged an Academy Award in 2015 for Visual Effects for the film. It is also known for Hans Zimmer's meditative original score, which set the tone for the epic sci-fi saga with echoes of Stanley Kubrick's 2001: A Space Odyssey.
