The board of governors at the Academy of Motion Pictures Arts and Sciences has elected Janet Yang again as its president. She has been in the position since August 2022.
The board also chose Lesley Barber, DeVon Franklin, Donna Gigliotti, Lynette Howell Taylor, and Howard A Rodman to chair the Membership Committee, the Equity and Inclusion Committee, the Finance Committee, the Awards Committee, and the Governance Committee, respectively.
Howell Taylor, Rodman, and Franklin have been re-elected to their respective positions. Gigliotti has acted as an Academy officer in one of her previous stints. However, this marks Barber's first stint as an Academy officer.
“I am thrilled to have Janet return as Academy president for a third term to continue our great work of the past two years,” stated Bill Kramer, the CEO of the Academy. “I also am so pleased to welcome this year’s incredible slate of dedicated board officers. I look forward to collaborating with our officers and governors to advance the Academy’s mission, serve our global membership, celebrate the work of our international filmmaking community, continue to ensure the financial health of the Academy and broaden our reach and impact within the industry.”
