Pierce Brosnan returns as a spy for Simon Barry's A Spy's Guide to Survival

Actor Pierce Brosnan, who is known for playing James Bond in the popular spy film franchise, is all set to turn a sleuth again in Simon Barry's film A Spy's Guide to Survival.

The debut director has helmed Netflix's hit series Warrior Nun. He will work on the screenplay based on a story co-conceived by his father Derek Barry.

The film revolves around a retired spy who is forced to come to the shadow world due to the enigma around his new neighbour.

A Spy's Guide to Survival is backed by Reality Distortion Field alongside Passage Pictures.

Brosnan was last seen in DC superhero epic, Black Adam, The Last Rifleman and Fast Charlie.

In another development, Brosnan has been cast with Ben Kingsley and Helen Mirren in The Thursday Murder Club, directed by Harry Potter fame Chris Columbus. The film is expected to go on floors this June.

The film, which is based on the novel by British producer and TV host Richard Osman of the same name, is about four geriatric friends who find themselves entangled in a real murder case while trying to solve murders for fun at their retirement home. Mirren is cast as a former spy named Elizabeth, Brosnan as an erstwhile union activist named Ron, and Kingsley as a former psychiatrist called Ibrahim.
