Prime Video sets release date for My Lady Jane

On Wednesday, Prime Video unveiled first-look images, and the release date for their upcoming romantic fantasy series, My Lady Jane. The series is all set to premiere on the streamer on June 27.

The series works on the hypothesis that erases the fact that Edward, King Henry VIII's son died of Tuberculosis, and Lady Jane Grey and her husband Guildford were not beheaded. The series will show Lady Jane Grey saving herself by going into an alternate universe setting, extending her reign for more than nine days, and enjoying an epic tale of romance and adventure.

My Lady Jane is adapted from the eponymous book by Brodi Ashton, Cynthia Hand, and Jodi Meadows. The series will have eight episodes which will premiere all at once.

The role of Jane Grey is performed by debutante Emily Bader. Edward Bluemel will play Guildford Dudley opposite Bader. Jordan Peters brings King Edward VI to life, while Dominic Cooper portrays the enigmatic Lord Seymour. Anna Chancellor takes on the role of Jane's ambitious mother, Lady Frances Grey, and Rob Brydon plays the influential Lord Dudley. Jim Broadbent essays the role of Jane's uncle, the Duke of Leicester. Henry Ashton portrays Guildford's brother, Stan, while Isabella Brownson and Robyn Betteridge round out the Grey family as Jane's sisters. The royal court is filled out by Kate O'Flynn as Princess Mary and Abbie Hern as Princess Bess. The supporting cast includes Máiréad Tyers, Joe Klocek, and Michael Workeye.

Gemma Burgess is the creator, co-showrunner and executive producer of My Lady Jane, who works along with Meredith Glynn. Five out of eight episodes are helmed by Jamie Babbit, who is also an executive producer along with Sarah Bradshaw and Laurie MacDonald.
