The Thursday Murder Club casts Ben Kingsley, Pierce Brosnan, and Helen Mirren

Earlier this April, we had reported that Ben Kingsley, Pierce Brosnan, and Helen Mirren are in talks to star in The Thursday Murder Club. The latest development is that they are set to act in the film by writer-director Chris Columbus and from Stephen Spielberg's Amblin Entertainment banner. Film critic Jeff Sneider first broke the news related to their casting in the film. It is based on 'The Thursday Murder Club', a novel by British producer and TV host Richard Osman.

The story revolves around four geriatric friends who find themselves entangled in a real murder case while trying to solve murders for fun at their retirement home. Mirren is cast as a former spy named Elizabeth, Brosnan as an erstwhile union activist named Ron, and Kingsley as a former psychiatrist called Ibrahim. The makers are finalising one more actor for the role of Joyce in The Thursday Murder Club.

Osman said that the film would go on floors this June and that its production would continue until September. Spielberg bought the production rights four years ago, and there has been ongoing work on the film since then.
