Academy Award nominee Lakeith Stanfield is reportedly in talks to headline and co-produce El Paso, Elsewhere, a film based on a video game of the same name. If the deal goes through, Stanfield will team up with producer Lorenzo di Bonaventura, whose namesake banner is known for the Transformers franchise films. Colin Stark is also co-producing the adaptation of the hit neo-noir video game about a vampire hunter. The game was released in September 2023 and developed by Strange Scaffold.
The story revolves around James Savage, played by Stanfield, a vampire hunter and recovering addict trying to track down his ex-girlfriend, Draculae, a vampire hell-bent on ending the world through an ancient ritual. There is no writer or director attached to the film yet, and the project is still in the process of finding a studio.
Stanfield starred in 2021’s Judas and the Black Messiah, which earned him an Oscar nomination in the best supporting actor category. He is also known for his roles in films like The Book of Clarence, Knives Out, Selma, Uncut Gems, The Girl in the Spider’s Web, and Sorry to Bother You. He has Amazon MGM's crime thriller, Play Dirty, starring Mark Wahlberg, in the pipeline.
CAA, Stark Management, and Ginsburg Daniels Kallis are representing Stanfield.
