M Night Shyamalan's Trap Trailer: Josh Hartnett is a serial killer with sinister plans at a concert

Warner Bros. has released the trailer for M. Night Shyamalan‘s latest mystery thriller Trap, starring Josh Hartnett, Saleka Shyamalan, Hayley Mills and Marnie McPhail.

As per the logline, Trap follows a "father and teen daughter attending a pop concert, where they realize they’re at the center of a dark and sinister event."

The 2.40-minute-long trailer showcases Hartnett's character, who along with his daughter Jody are at a famous pop star's concert. As he leaves the auditorium to catch a break, he witnesses security arrangements being beefed up. Upon asking a person, he learns that the police have set a trap to nab a serial killer who has also come to attend the concert. The twist in the tale is that it is Hartnett who is the killer. We see him holding a victim hostage at his house's basement through his phone where he is monitoring him. Will he find a way out of the venue? What are his evil plans?

Interestingly, the pop star in Trap is played by the director’s second daughter, Saleka, a singer-songwriter who also wrote several songs for the film.

The film is scheduled to hit theatres on August 9.
