Transformers One launches its trailer into space, gets new release date

Paramount launched the first trailer for the Transformers origin story, entitled Transformers One, into space with a weather balloon recently. This is the first time that a film studio sent its trailer into outer space. The animated film, directed by Josh Cooley and co-produced by New Republic, boasts a star-studded voice cast that includes Chris Hemsworth as Optimus Prime (originally Orion Pax), Brian Tyree Henry as Megatron (originally D-16), Keegan-Michael Key as B-127, and Scarlett Johansson as Elita-1. It explores the brotherhood and eventual rivalry between Optimus Prime and Megatron.

Transformers One is the first animation Transformers film to release in almost 40 years. Steven Spielberg serves as an executive producer for the film, alongside Brian Goldner, Bradley J Fischer, Valerii An, and  Brian Oliver. Lorenzo di Bonaventura, Don Murphy, Tom DeSanto, Mark Vahradian, Aaron Dem, and Michael Bay are the producers of the film. Gabriel Ferrari and Andrew Barrer penned the prequel’s script. It is slated for a September 20 release.
