James Russo, Ulrich Thompson, and Amanda Plummer have signed up for Uwe Boll’s Run, a thriller on the migrant crisis, according to a Variety report. The film discusses the impact of the arrival of a few desperate migrants on the Italian coast on tourists and natives. The cast of Run also includes Marcus Henderson, Costas Mandylor, and Barkhad Abdi. The film is set to go on floors on April 17 in Croatia.

The cast announced earlier includes Kristen Renton, Daniel Sauli, Mohammed Qissi, and Sammy Sheik. Discussing the film, director Boll told Variety, “I’m a very politically interested person, as my films Stoic, Rampage, Darfur, Heart of America, Assault on Wall Street, or Auschwitz show."

On the film's themes, he added, “The boat migration through smugglers from Africa into Europe is escalating year by year more and has turned into a lose-lose situation for the population and the migrants."

Boll also produces the film, while Michael Roesch serves as its executive producer and deals with world sales. Also part of the crew are Boll's earlier collaborators such as cinematographer Mathias Neumann, editor Ethan Maniquis, and line producer Boris Velican.
