Sandra Oh joins Aziz Ansari’s comedy film Good Fortune

Canadian and American actor Sandra Oh, who is known for her roles in Killing Eve and Arliss has been roped in for Aziz Ansari’s directorial film, Good Fortune, reported Deadline.

The film also stars alongside Seth Rogen, Keanu Reeves, and Keke Palmer.

This is Ansari's second directing endeavour after the Searchlight dramedy Being Mortal, which was cancelled in 2022 due to accusations of inappropriate behaviour made by actor Bill Murray.

Prior to this, he directed 11 episodes of Yang's critically acclaimed Netflix series Master of None, which he co-created, as well as his 2022 comedy special Nightclub Comedian.

Oh’s role is being kept under wraps, as is the plot of the movie. Ansari directed from his script and produced alongside Anthony Katagas and Alan Yang, with Aniz Adam Ansari and Jonathan McCoy serving as executive producers. Brady Fujikawa and Jon Humphrey of Lionsgate are in charge of the picture.

Oh broke out in 1994 with her lead role in the Canadian indie drama Double Happiness. Her roles ramped up steadily from there, including The Princess Diaries, Full Frontal, and Sideways, and a supporting role in the HBO series Arliss. In 2005, she landed her highest-profile gig yet — the role of Cristina Yang in the medical drama Grey's Anatomy.

She recently lent her voice to Turning Red, starred in the films Quiz Lady and Umma, and voices the main character's mother in Amazon's Invincible. She is next set to star in HBO's upcoming black comedy series The Sympathizer.
