The representatives of stand-up comic Tom Segura are in talks with Pacific Electric Picture Company to secure him more than one role in the independent film Dirty Rotten Bastard, according to a Deadline report. Josh Martin and Ryan McNeely are directing the film, which revolves around the kidnapping of a wannabe filmmaker by Andy Kaufman's fictional lounge singer character Tony Clifton. Segura is in line to play Clifton, Kaufman's comedic persona, and the latter's collaborator and friend Bob Zmuda.
Brent Dillon is the screenwriter for Dirty Rotten Bastar, while Ed Helms and Mike Falbo of Pacific Electric Picture Company are the producers. On the other hand, Brett Harris, Trip Bennewitz, and Ryan Chavez are the executive producers of the film.
Segura is most popular for his standup comedy specials such as Ball Hog and Sledgehammer. His non-standup credits include Countdown, The Opening Act, Instant Family, Flinch, Happy Endings, and Workaholics.
