Actor Ewan McGregor might come back to the Star Wars universe as Obi-Wan Kenobi. In an interview with LADbible, McGregor expressed his keenness on playing Obi-Wan Kenobi as he enjoyed his experience shooting for the first season of the eponymous Disney+ show.

McGregor plays the titular character in Obi-Wan Kenobi, which follows his attempt to save Princess Leia from captivity with Darth Vader and Imperial Inquisitors in hot pursuit. He admitted that he once lied to fans about playing Jedi Master Kenobi to keep them from learning about it and hence surprise them. However, he recently assured that he is not in the know about whether his Obi-Wan Kenobi will feature in the show's future.

“The truth is I’ve talked about having to cover for doing the Obi-Wan season for years, I had to lie about that, and I’m not lying about this now,” he LADbible during the promotions for his latest show A Gentleman in Moscow.

Reflecting on the future of the universe, he said, “I hope we get a chance to do another one and I’m sure we will. I’m pretty sure, you know, I’ve got a few years yet before I’m the same age as Alec Guinness was in A New Hope. So there’s time to tell more stories in there.”

Ewan McGregor's next film is Flowervale Street, opposite Anne Hathaway, which is slated for a May 16 release.
