Makers release BTS of IMAX shooting of Oppenheimer

On Thursday, the makers of Oppenheimer released a behind-the-scenes trailer that shows how shooting for IMAX was done for the film. The trailer teases that filming in IMAX has not only made the explosive scenes more impressive but has also heightened the quiet character moments as well.

In the new trailer, director Christopher Nolan says, "Oppenheimer's story is one of the biggest stories imaginable. Our film tries to take him into his experience, and IMAX for me is a portal into a level of immersion that you can't get from other formats."

Additionally, it was also revealed that the team created the black and white film that they used to shoot Oppenheimer. The 65-millimetre black and white was a format that didn't exist before.

The film stars Cillian Murphy as J Robert Oppenheimer, the American theoretical physicist who is called the 'father of the atomic bomb' and his role in the Manhattan Project during World War II. Oppenheimer has been credited as the director of the Los Alamos Laboratory, a place known for assembling bombs.

Cillian Murphy stars in the titular character, marking his debut as a lead in Nolan's films. He has earlier appeared in the director's Inception, Batman Begins, The Dark Knight, and Dunkirk, to name a few. Apart from Cilian, Oppenheimer also stars Florence Pugh, Robert Downey Jr, Gary Oldman, Rami Malek, and Kenneth Branagh, among others.

Oppenheimer is set to hit theatres on July 7.
