Indian composer Ricky Kej bags Grammy for third time
He won the award for the album Divine Tides
It has been raining global recognition for India at the Western award shows. After MM Keeravani’s Naatu Naatu song from RRR grabbed awards at the Golden Globe and Critics’ Choice Awards, and India’s documentaries The Elephant Whisperers and All That Breathes have earned Academy Award nominations, Indian composer Ricky Kej made a mark at the Grammy Awards.
The composer bagged his third Grammy for Divine Tides, a collaborative album made in association with drummer Stewart Copeland. It was nominated under the Best Immersive Audio Album category.
Sharing his happiness right, Ricky posted a picture and wrote: "Super grateful, my 3rd Grammy Award." In his statement, the composer said, "It feels absolutely surreal to win the biggest prize in music again for the third time. I am extremely grateful to have had another opportunity to make my country India proud by achieving this on the biggest platform in the world for music. I'd like to thank the Recording Academy for this honour, my collaborators Stewart Copeland, Herbert Waltl, Eric Schilling, and everyone else who made this album possible."
The album consists of nine songs.
